The thing is, Rowling was perfectly likable before she randomly decided to make “trans people want to rape me in the bathroom” her entire personality.

Rowling is doing an amazing job getting into arguments with people infinitely more likable than she is.

“Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the transphobes!”

If the A/C works this is a NP all day long. And I despise most German vehicles.

A Malibu from the Malaise Era with its “whopping” horsepower and covered with NASCAR stickers—yeesh.

It is appreciated that they did this to a place just storing the inventory instead of going up to people’s homes and doing it. Best to get that vandalism as close to the source as possible.

I’m not saying what this person(s) did was right, but part of me definitely understands and appreciates their moxie.

25mph = 40km/h. That’s fast enough that when my wife and kids were t-boned by a distracted driver (“just holding onto” their cell phone), the impact crushed the side of her minivan. Our daughter (then 6-years-old) was sitting dead centre in the van. If she had been sitting middle row, passenger side, she would’ve been

Jaywalking is a thing because the automotive industry poured a lot of money into turning this into a car-dependent nation.

The $8500 asking price is a down payment on a car that will likely need quite a bit more as the new owner discovers all its problems. Will the buyer come out alright in the end? That’s a crap shoot.

No I 100% understand that, bakes are supposed to be in the roadway, but as someone who has been hit by a car on a bike, if the sidewalk is not being used I will use that and not be in the road. Drivers are inattentive, and I don’t feel safe riding in the road, and in NO world would I ever be in the road on a

Sadly I have to follow the mantra of, “You can be right, or you can be dead.”

You can ride in that lane, but the chances of getting smeared are extremely high. I had a friend get clipped by a truck, broke his collarbone and sent him over the handles. The pickup truck owner acted like my friend was in the wrong and told

You can’t fix stupid, and this country has too much of it. I believe that ideally they should have every right to be on the road where legally allowed. But we don’t live in an ideal world, and if you value your life, you will not ride on roads where you can get hit by 4,000 pound objects with idiot controlling them.

I was about to point out #1.

Nissan Leaf. First gen for sure, in 10 years second gens will probably also be gone. They’re not terrible cars, their batteries are just literally not designed to last.

Two things:

I was going to write something like this (you can see my real answer elsewhere) but decide not to because I don’t have time today to a) provide my rationale b) list the pro/cons of actually implementing it and c) argue with people over it.

Three words: swappable battery packs. I feel it’s been nuts to saddle EVs with packs that can be technologically outmoded, go on the fritz due to one cell going bad, and just plain aggravating when you’re on a trip and you have to cool your heels at a charging station for hours before you can continue.

Instead of regulating the car companies for emissions, regulate the customer.

I would remove mandatory driver “aides” like blindspot monitoring and lane departure warnings. People have become too reliant on them and aren’t present when behind the wheel. Without them I think people would be more focused on the task at hand.
