This is going to need about that much again in updates just from age, use and rot. If you’re okay with that I guess it’s a NP, but I’m not paying 10k plus repairs for something this old. And repairs made? Minimum. I know. I am making them myself on an ‘06 (that I feel is a more durable make/model).

What’s stopping me from buying a used EV (other than my fairly unnatural fondness for my ancient DD) is just this. Every time I decide a certain make, model and year is the one to aim for, reports of updates in tech, battery life and range make me decide to wait - and I can because my ICE is nice. 

We apparently need an article about acceptable road food (what is unlikely to mess you or your car up while simultaneously being deliciously edible).

Watched a show with Phil from Location (cubed), in NZ (barrier island) where the homeowner had the POOL brought in by helicopter. Then most of the materials used to build would have had to be brought in by copter or ship.

They don’t have a clear title. They say “I know what I have.” There are multiple owners and/or an unclear accident history (many will forgive a fender bender if the seller is honest and presents contact info for the shop involved).

Some states charge property taxes on vehicles as well as homes. Pissed me RIGHT off when I got slammed with that one in a couple of mid-southern states that squeal about their low income taxes (and then tax everything in sight).
