I’m probably watching this since I heard they made Blue into an action hero and she’s probably more fun to watch than Chris Pratt by now and Bayona’s camp apparently managed to drown out Trevorrow’s ponderous and self serious story which theoretically should have been good only not from the guy who made The Book of

I think he’s pointing out that the film’s universe is effectively the late 1950/early 1960s flavored with parts of modern technology, hence “midcentury-modern-flavored alternate universe”

Misread article, thought Doctuar was in charge of Pixar.

Frozen and Inside Out were both great films, and I wish these talented people continued success. Lasseter was also involved in great movies, nothing can erase that, but none of that excuses his ‘Creepy Uncle Touchy’ act, which has been proven by many witnesses. Good riddance.

That doesn’t even make any sense. RE2r isn’t even a fresh coat of paint. They cut the canvas and left only the frame to work with.

But it sounds like everything in this remake has changed from the original formula of the source material and is drawing inspiration from all of the sequels (RE4's camera, RE5's gunplay, RE7's lighting contrast). If Squeenix was taking notes, they’d be doing exactly what they’re doing now.

...oh wait

This seems to be the exact oppostie of what you’re suggesting - this seems to be a ground-up reinterpretation of the game, not a new coat of paint and some extras.

It was so disappointing when RE2 and RE3 in the GameCube were straight up ports after the awesome REmake. But it finally happened! For RE2, at least, which is perfect.

That’s because of storytelling / cinematography. The way you shoot something, set the mood, etc... plays the bigger factor than the specific monster.

I’m just surprised they managed to make traditional zombies fucking frightening again.

I don’t know who Jacob Sartorius is, but I hope he’s very well dressed.
