A bizzare comment seeing as I have seen Aquaman being praised for reaching both campy and emotional heights where many other superhero movies failed.
Zack Snyder is the king of long movies (that’s currently active).
The “Avatar has no cultural impact” meme suspiscously sound like it was created by the ‘anti-woke’ crowd to counter the criticisms about its white savior elements. After all, how can you discuss the cultural aspects of a movie with no influence on culture, according to MAGA chud logic.
It’s obvious the term is used because Cameron is a science nerd, and the gawking about it reads the same as people mocking Jurassic Park for claiming the Earth is older than 6000 years.
If she ever makes a talking animal movie, it would be about a cat.
David Fincher might be a more prolific example though.
Fuck no. A world without Tarn or a wide release Leo Prime would just be poorer. Also somebody needs to prop up cubism in cinema.
The Bay Optimus Prime is considered iconic now though. It might not be in movies after this, but they will definitely make new toys and merch of it, several of them are in fact being readied for sale now.
David Sobolov who was Depth Charge and Teletraan 1 in Beast Wars is in the movie as Rhinox and Battletrap. He’s the only Beast Wars alumni though, and he has been in a lot of Transformers media including Blitzwing in Bumblebee.
For the original Primal toy, it meant that Hasbro and Takara loaded him with weapons and play features to make up for the simple transformation despite being an Ultra size class toys. He had a hidden flail in his right hand, hidden spring-loaded missile launchers in his left hand that fired two missiles, another…
TLJ was good for how faithful it was to the prequels, specifically the stuff Lucas and Filoni added to the lore. But nowadays the Prequels are considered far better than the ST by not just fans but also cinephiles.
More importantly, as a creator I hope he respects each filmmaker’s creativity.
It’s not really up to Cavill but the filmmakers. One thing that made his Superman interesting was how it doesn’t shy away showing in negative light a lot things 2000s movies see as good by default. The American military and government was not heroic in MoS or BvS, they antagonize, hinder or are completely helpless…
I hope his further adventures as Superman will maintain the progressive nature it had from the start and not fall into centrism trap a lot modern superhero stories get caught in.
Pretty sure a lot of people would use that quote to cancel him though. For example, many thinks Superman is not allowed to “go through stuff” because that is considered a trait of fascists. LOL
The Frankenstein parody is also a parody of The Man With Two Brains, or I think that was the title. It’s a movie about a white man who had his head surgically attached to a black man to save his life.
Gunn also once expressed interest in releasing David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. I hope this happens too, and signals a return to DC Film’s initial goal of being creator-centric.
Finally Geoff Johns won’t always have his way at WB.
