With New Gods it's actually weirder because Ava Duvernay is actively still writing it with Tom King. The excuse they gave about not using these characters too much also seems weird.

A generation who grew up on the MCU wouldn’t understand you at all.

TLJ is actually the best Sequel because it’s the only one that understands the Prequels.

The MCU barely did anything with Thanos before Infinity War though. The inclusion of the New Gods in ZSJL is also fairly well-received and should have been an even bigger incentive for them to move forward with New Gods. Now many people just see New Gods as collatoral damage in WB’s battle to push away Snyder.

While what you’re saying is absolutely true and makes sense, I guess WB saying they don’t want to continue Snyder’s JL story followed by them outright cancelling New Gods probably got some fans of the Monsterverse skittish. GvK is doing well enough they probably don’t have to worry as much though.

I actually have reservations about her working with Marvel because of their problematic politics and some issues on working with filmmakers. Mostly they appear to hold their directors on tight leashes, to the point they tell them not to worry about directing action scenes.

It’s also pretty sad that WB not wanting to continue Snyder’s JL story means they would also cancel this movie.

On the other hand, that was a non-franchise Disney movie, so who knows if she had some behind-the-scenes trouble.

Given how much Snyder gave room to Fisher when making JL, I’m not surprised if some WB executive calls him “Zack The [N-word]” in private (and of course they would just straight up call Fisher the n-word).

And of course, the movie where Superman smiled the most is... the version of JL by Joss “Young Actresses Are So Needy” Whedon. Feels like if 1940s Hollywood made a movie to inspire American soldier and they paperclipped Leni Riefenstahl to direct it. Yeesh.
