No. This is dumb horseshit. The internals of a computer should be able to run at 70c at least without any adverse effects. That’s 150 degrees Fahrenheit. The people doing this crap are bringing it from like 105f to about 95f or so, which for a piece of computer hardware is a joke.

I don’t have a switch but I can tell you with complete confidence Nintendo’s hardware is bulletproof. People will give them flak for their games and business practices but nobody ever complains about their hardware engineering. Never heard of their consoles or handhelds ever failing.

Unless you are are sitting outside directly in the sun at midday on a 95-degree day then you have nothing to worry about. Intercoolers are more harmful to consoles then helpful but the Switch’s vent is a good size.

I haven’t seen any real reports of the Switch overheating and ending up a brick this just seems like more of your typical Twitter/ internet BS.

No. It’s all internet stupidity.

I’ve always wondered why they (they) don’t sell external heat sinks for humans. Consider all the dead space on your forehead, which has a huge vein just full of blood radiating heat. Slap an aluminum sink on there with some thermal paste and wear a hat or umbrella so the sun doesn’t transfer heat into your skull —

If it’s not faulty the safety mechanisms will shut it down if it heats up too much. The lifespan of the device will be shorter if used while hot but as there will be new switch xl next year you will buy the new one anyways and no one will want the old one so it will go in trash where lifespan doesn’t matter. If it

If you are laying out on the beach using the Switch as an umbrella while playing it docked to a TV, you may need to cool it. If you have any semblance of climate control, not so much.

No, you don’t. This is all meme bullshit.

No nothing like this is worth investing in. It doesn’t even get as hot as a cellphone. People are paranoid.

Play for an hour, take the switch out. If it’s hot, there may be a problem. Mine has never even been what I would call warm. I think you’re cool.

Do you have any issues playing the Switch in Summer? If not, you don’t need to cool it.

Well I’d prefer the latest Street Fighter titles compared to the latest smash titles. So maybe it’s not just them doing it purely to support Capcom but because they actually still like it? Although it’s also assumption on my part, but I am merely saying it’s more than just one factor.

Yeah, I was wondering the same things. What black magic 3D lighting turns the pixelated GBA art into this? I’ll have try some side-by-side comparisons of the scenes from the trailer and the original game

Moon was my second favorite pokemon game of all time, second to emerald and just above XD. I don’t really mind replaying the story, or some variant of it. Is it a poor practice? yeah, probably. But I’m a filthy consumerist worm, so I don’t mind this time.

Okay, let’s look at every thing we know from the teaser: The games are sequels, The player characters got redesigns, The first two legends have fused with the third legend, and the story will be different.

Yellow

This has been The Pokemon Company’s business model since the beginning.

At the moment, I actually am. Unless I see more justifying another full-price purchase, I’ll be passing on this one.

Ending was spoiled for me before I even attempted playing it. I was so put-off from the direction it went, I couldn’t bring myself to play it.
