The heart and soul of the books for me wasn’t Jake or Roland, it was Eddie and Susannah. I am cautiously optimistic about this project, it’ll probably be fine but also... I kinda don’t care? So it’s not a straight adaption, they could have done anything, and my two favorites are no where in sight. It makes sense from

I just want to love Star Trek again. I hope this show can bring me back around.

Trailer and TV spots are not the movie. Was there something after the credits? It sounds like you’ve seen the movie already so I’m curious. Honestly it looks like what literally any reboot property banking on nostalgia looks like. The worst that can be said is there’s nothing special about it. It’s a popcorn movie,

The vitriol over Stay Puft is baffling, but then the fan reaction about everything regarding the new GB has left me scratching my head. The only real misstep so far was that awful first trailer, but they corrected that. The GB fandom representation at cons and whatnot always looked carefree and fun, but this new movie

That was the first thing I thought of too! Love that podcast.

Agreed. I’m somewhat disappointed that I’ll never see the version of the story I invested so much in, but there’s not many stories that can say “there’s room for this different version of events in canon, we swear” and it’s actually true.

Seems likely to be an Infernal demon and some sort of avatar/image of Sargeras? Nice to see some more burning legion hints in the footage.

The Dark Tower has been described as unfilmable, and unfortunately I think the people making the movie took that sentiment to heart and are doing something very different. That’s not a bad thing for an adaption of the series (watching a straight adaption of The Gunslinger would be kinda weird) but it’s slowly killing

They’ve already cast a character only present in book 7, so it could potentially be any white female character in the series. I can’t remember which Morning Spoilers it was, but someone (King himself?) involved with the movie has said it isn’t meant to be a straight adaption of The Gunslinger.

To be fair, originally she was half human, then they changed it. I assume they don’t want to overcomplicate the story by dragging yet another alien race (that won’t play a big part in this particular story) into a budding movie franchise that might not get off the ground.
