Agreed. They probably had to demonstrate the physical mechanism is disconnected from its power source when the landing gear is up or when the throttles are pushed to a certain level. Lots of other variables, but I’d bet that’s it in a nutshell.

I would say just pay attention to weight as much as the other specs. If you can find a tire that ticks most of your boxes and weighs less than other comparable choices I would lean that direction, especially if the vehicle is driven daily.
Exactly why I still run a lighter P-Metric All-Terrain in the stock size on my FJC that I have to drive everyday. Sure it doesn’t look as cool, but I seriously cringed the other day when a lifted Wrangler Unlimited on (at least) 35in mud-terrain tires went sailing past me while we were all suddenly panic braking on…
