"All of it was." Such a sweeping oversimplication of the decision making process by which tens of millions of people decided between two widely disliked candidates refutes itself.

TPP is trash. Investor-State Dispute Resolution mechanisms like it had need to be killed with fire. It's about corporate power vs. democratic processes, not free trade. But regardless of the merits, it was a political loser.

I agree that part of Trump's constituency is driven by exactly these things. To a significant degree, that would be true of any Republican president. But it's also clear that distrust of or hostility to immigrants goes hand in hand with economic insecurity and desperation. And for all of his lack of sincerity or any

Nah, there's no national security reasons not to clarify the official positions of our intelligence agencies, on the record, as to, say, whether Russia hacked the DNC. Especially with all of the innuendo flying around. That is the norm. The sanctions are politically driven and, I repeat, dumb.

Right. If we are going to take steps like this, it should be based on the heads of the intelligence agencies testifying before congress as to what did and did not happen, not anonymous underlings leaking unsubstantiated claims to the press.

I think it's more like, though the infiltration of the DLC, the Democratic Party adopted many of the ideas that Reagan stood for. Clintonism is an offshoot of Reaganism.

He/his administration:

Nina Turner, IMO.

…two things.

Trump is Obama's mess.

Well that's fitting since his record on civil liberties was trash.

But I will also say that I bristle at the notion that some big response is required for what seems to amount to them picking favorites by passing along truthful information that could be disseminated to the American people. (Contrast the US's active, ongoing efforts at non-democratic regime change in Venezuela.)

Well I would say, for starters, any response should come after a full, public investigation into what they did and did not do, so that it is not politically driven and based on anonymously-sourced and unsubstantiated claims in the press.

Anyone who voted for the sanctions that caused them to expel over 700 of our diplomatic staff, for example.

Ratcheting up tension with Russia is still stupid.

That doesn't make it not stupid.

I am sorry but you simply could not be more wrong. It's not a deep Dem issue. It is supported by a majority of the population overall and an overwhelming majority of Democrats. Not LEADING on the issue is both cowardly and stupid for any pol who has presidential aspirations as a Dem.

Yeah someone already set me straight. Thanks tho.

Well it's tough to unravel because black people are disproportionately poor. I think we can agree though that drug enforcement is very racist, and that the whole drug war is bullshit and needs to be ended.
