Some of us understand that Putin is an unsavory character and are also put off by overheated rhetoric about war with a nuclear armed superpower over…what exactly?

Good.
This episode was cruel in its withholding. I really wanted to see the barmaid at the top of the hill.
So sober is a requirement for you?
It's like people have never even heard Ice Cube.
How was this ever a mystery?
Debut all the way for me. Mother We Share, Gun, and Sink are my three favorite songs by them.
I don't know if Harmony Woods' voice is very technically impressive, but it definitely hits my sweet spot. Big part of the appeal for me.
The music is really good but I'm not crazy about the guy's voice. A little warbly for my taste, perhaps.
Blazing Arrow is so good. A classic for sure.
Heh, funny how that works, huh?
Funny, lyrics are also a second tier concern for me, but so is melody. The biggest things for me are beat, rhythm, and vocals. Cool electronic effects/noise are borderline. I can do without but that's almost always what takes something from good to great or great to amazing for me.
Haha, I was so ready to take your side too. In truth it wasn't really dreadful, just didn't do much for me.
If you don't think her songs have *any* hooks, it's probably cause you haven't listened to them, and you are basing your opinion on one song that I already said is not that great.
Waxahatchee definitely can do a good hook. Lips and Limbs, Coast to Coast, and La Loose all spring to mind. But a lot of her stuff just isn't that poppy, and that's OK. Not every song needs to be full of big hooks to be great.
Although there are a number of songs that you dislike which I find amazing, I gotta say I'm with you on this one.
I need to give emotion another listen, but the one time I listened to it it didn't make much of an impression. I actually like Cut to the Feeling quite a bit though. I haven't listened to the B sides but Cut to the Feeling is my favorite thing she's done since Call Me Maybe.
It's really hard for me to pick a favorite since they're all so good, but if I had to pick a few, I'd probably go with Gravel to Tempo, One Bad Night, and Palace.
I haven't listened to her that much, but yes. Nights With You is a really good track. Also needless to say I love the track she does with Charli on N1A.
I don't particularly care about the CEO personally though he does sound like a grade-A douche. Their whole business model though is based on using VC cash to break the unionized competition, and they'll probably only ever be profitable once they can use automated cars and fire all the drivers. Uber can get fucked.
