That's cool, I didn't expect you to read all of that stuff tonight!

This is totally an aside, but if you haven't watched the CNN debate on health care between Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders, it's well worth a watch. Not usually a fan of cable news, but I really commend them for putting on a substantive, in-depth program about an important issue.
First off, your saying that my first three paragraphs don't make sense is a bit glib. I think there's a point in there somewhere if you dig for it, although I was trying to type it out quickly and probably could have stated better. It may be that I went off on a bit of a tangent about your characterization of the…
I will agree it's not as cut and dry as the linked article makes it seem.
On your first point, let's assume that is a fair characterization of their reporting. "Objective within a more or less narrow ideological window," which is what your description boils down to, still does not mean "objective." And so any broad claim to objectivity by the publication is essentially a pretense.
Here is a good example which I came across this week. It is not the only one, mind you.
So are you saying that "centrist" is synonymous with "objective," or that you misspoke when you said that top-tier news was centrist?
"The key is to read widely and critically."
Surely you recognize that "centrist" is not remotely the same thing as "objective," right?
The Wall Street Journal is better for accuracy and both Naked Capitalism and The Financial Times are miles ahead of the NYT in terms of incisiveness. The NYT is supreme though in terms of original content of questionable accuracy and mediocre-at-best incisiveness.
Oh god I have such a huge crush on her. I kind of randomly caught a recent interview that she had with Bill Maher and she was so charming I just about swooned. This would definitely be a good selling point.
Tell him that for The NY Times at least, he can just delete the cookies that track how many free articles you've read and then read as many as he wants for free.
I was mortar-fied to see them treat the subject so lightly.
I hate musicals but I like nudity, so I may have to check this out.
Someone's never seen her sing her sexy Christmas baby song!
That sounds like a lot of work. We're just tryin' to churn out some content here, not get all contexty.
Read a book.
Yeah centrism is dumb and meaningless. It just took me a while to realize it.
No, that is not what we needed during his presidency or what we need now. I have identified as a centrist for much of my life, but when you define yourself as being between two poles, and one of them keeps shifting inexorably to the right, then at some point being centrist just means being right-wing. That is where…
I suppose I sympathize as well, because it's not like he doesn't deserve it. But so much of this "resist Trump at all costs" stuff has the whiff of those who would just like to defend the status quo at all costs, and who don't really care which party wins as long as things keep heading more or less in the same…
