That’s a weird thing to say to a pop culture critic. Just don’t read it?

The Clone Wars were a thousand times cooler when they were something we knew absolutely nothing about.

Egad, this trailer has as much twee packed into it as all the other Wes Anderson films do put together. Seriously, a borderline toxic amount.

Counterpoint: The Monkees!

During that scene I was thinking “wow, the fungus radically reshaped the topography of Waltham”

Yeah, that caused some laughs while we were watching. The proceeding shots could have conceivably been Concord, although the town they ended up in was supposed to be Lincoln. Whatever. It just seems strange that they felt they needed to the hassle of getting an “idyllic mountain stream” shot for this series when

That’s nice. It’s a very pleasant show that’s a very enjoyable binge on a rainy day. It’s the show my wife and I like to watch when we can’t decide on anything else

sounds like a great movie to be on twitter during.

Elvis was a vapid fever dream, or a 7 minute (bad) music video stretched out over nearly 3 hours. If I had seen it in a theater I would have walked out, sadly I watched it at home and pushed through. It was as bad as Blonde...

less of a joke it being there than Top Gun, actively terrible movie.

Why do people like it so much? Honest question. I just don’t get it. The dialogue was painfully on the nose. It was like an AI scriptwriting program was fed a “write a Top Gun sequel” prompt. The characters were one dimensional, a lot of the direction was clunky. The cinematography wasn’t really especially great. The

I’ve got thoughts

“queue” and “cue” are homophones but not homonyms and have rather distinct meanings unless you actually meant that Poker Face is standing physically in line behind Columbo.

Count me in the Ocean’s 12 fanclub. I quite enjoyed its nerve in not just doing the same thing as 11 (which 13 did... And I liked 13 but it’s just 11 again) and just soaked in the banter, Soderbergh showing off his directorial and editing flair, and all things Vincent Cassel.

low key love the Julia Roberts thing.

I thought Diana really came off as completely insufferable in this episode (I mean, particularly this one). The show seemed to be spelling out in neon lights how little the acupuncturist wanted her at the hospital, and subsequently how poorly she behaved when she was supposedly supporting her ‘friend’.

Yep. So much abysmal sound mixing, which really sucks for dialogue-heavy shows like Deadwood or Boardwalk Empire.

The movie’s not perfect, but it was literally breathtaking for me since, for the first time since Empire Strikes Back, I had no idea where any individual scene or the overall movie was going. After decades of predictable storytelling, Johnson flipped over the table and did new and exciting stuff.

Is it just me or are Martin Freeman and Steve Carrell gradually fusing into the same person?

So many good roles, but I'll single out how great he was in his small role in Silent Movie.  He was far funnier then most people were aware.
