Newegg had a Black Friday deal here in the US for a 5D Mk II bundled with the 24-105 f/4 IS L lens for $2,800 shipped. That sealed the deal for me. I'm sure you'll see deals that good or better now.

This still makes me feel good about my Black Friday deal. A 5D Mk II with a 24-105mm f4 IS L lens for $2,800 shipped. With the lens being about $1K, the camera cost me $1,800. And that was over 3 months ago. If the Mk III ever gets a good drop, I'll consider an upgrade.

Agreed! Prime, for me, was the best thing since sliced bread. And that was back with just expedited shipping. The rest is just icing on top.
