I have to say, this looks pretty good.

I was thinking about what you were saying. Of course there are plenty of stylised shows that I'd simply forgotten about. The3 entire CSI franchise for example - green for CSI Vegas, oramge for CSI Miami and blue for CSI NY for a start.

PS. I haven't seen American Horror Story or Mad Men though.

My god, a David Lynch-reboot of The Prisoner would be stunning - excellent call!

If I misinterpreted what was said, my apologies. I think that what I meant to say what that TV and Movie studios today can't recreate either the stylishness or, more importantly, the 'stylisation' of some of the more tongue-in-cheek 60s series. Both The Avengers and The Prisoner remakes - heavily stylised - failed.

And as for the beginning of 'The Prisoner'. I don't think I have ever seen such an exciting intro to any show in the forty years that followed. Has there been one?

I don't think you can draw that conclusion; 'That no modern TV studio can remake any classic'. However, one can say - because it failed so horrendously - that 'a modern TV studio can't reboot The Prisoner'. That's a specific case over a generalised proposition, I'd say.

Grow up. If someone is a bad writer, we get to say that. Protecting their amour propre - and yours - is not in the game.

I don't thinking posting 'This is crap' constitutes 'psychotic harassment'.

A boxed set of 'The Prisoner'. It's pop-culture and high culture, a psychological thriller and an action thriller. It's now nearly forty years old and it's more modern - and modernistic - than anything out there.
