I'd like to agree with that! But with a corporation as large and influential as Disney, they never protest against being perceived as the "true" arbiter of adaptions — makes it easier to sell trinkets and vacations.
Just out of curiosity, how familiar are you with the original tale? Because I agree with your commentary, especially that children deserve more credit. Which is why it was so frustrating that although Frozen was alright, it was still a reductive imitation. Frankly, Disney could have made something even better…
