If only Google Voice could handle MMS. I'd even accept if it just sent an SMS letting me know that the picture was accessible via the Google Voice website.

@styfle: It's not that they couldn't reverse it, it's that they don't already have the hash in their database.

@styfle: That's assuming there is a salt. Not everyone is doing things the right way.

@styfle: You're almost there—if they decided to brute force it, they'd probably start with just using numbers and letters (or even just letters), because it would take so much less time.

It wasn't a 1940s song that made this saying popular—it's been around for quite some time. As others have commented below, a similar phrase appears in the Bible.

This is fantastic—thank you! I get these at least a couple of times a year, and they just go straight into the recycling bin. I'd much rather not receive them at all. Thanks again!

I'm happy for a partial solution, but to be honest, this doesn't really get it done for me. What I really need is cross-browser syncing. Anybody have any good ideas for that?

@AmphetamineCrown: I agree with you that PowerPoint would get a lot of votes for "worst presentation tool", but I think that would be a mistake.

@andrew11: I definitely agree—the tool is rarely the difference in a presentation. In fact, what's on the screen should only be there as a visual aid to support or add depth to what you're saying. The presentation itself is the performance—what the presenter says, how s/he works the crowd, the pace and timing and

@jupiterthunder: This was my thought exactly. Some of my shirts might need a little bit of touch-up coming out of the dryer, but many are perfectly fine if I hang them up immediately after the dry cycle. Ironing after the wash cycle would be a waste of time.

@RoadWanker: This isn't really true. There are lots of kinds of screws that have flat ends, including lots of machine screws and shoulder screws.

@coasterman00: This is an outstanding idea, as is the original posting. On several occasions, I've needed to plug in a running vacuum or something else that makes noise, then go downstairs and switch off breakers one at a time until I hear the noise stop. A year later, when I again need to turn off the breaker, I've

@imapcgirl: The files...they're in the computer?

@the_flee: I wouldn't disagree about the importance of a referral, although that matters more in some fields and companies than others. Of all the jobs I've had in my life, nearly all of them started out with a referral.

I interview people on a regular basis, and I would agree to a large extent with this article. Of course, most of the positions I interview people for are not technical in nature, so I already know from their resume if they are smart enough and versatile enough to handle what we wan them to do—specific competencies

@Name of Numbers: I don't deny that. I've certainly encountered people who are real jerks, no matter how polite you are. I'm just not going to be one of them by disabling the seat in front of me.
