@Penny: Most of the big catalog work is going through India now. There is/was a huge firm in Seattle that handles this and they outsource to India. You would be surprised.

@Penny: Most photographers are insisting they do their own retouching these days and it is in their contracts. Period. If it isn't them, it is their assistants or some hack studio, and they are directing. Retouching has always been going on since photography was invented. Now, hacks do it and everyone is aware.
