I loved watching these shows. Such a great pair. Julia is always herself and so outspoken (not batty, in my opinion). I also really liked the shows with Jacques and his daughter, although it always seemed like he was a moment away from kicking her off.

I think horror movies have ruined so many things for so many people. It's kind of sad that a children's song sung in a sweet voice makes us think of evil children.

@ellaesther: similarly, I looked at this and wondered if if it was some sort of social commentary. Something to make us think about the way religion sometimes sanctions the use of violence towards women.

I'd like to hear some more from women over 40 on this. No offense to the younger women here, but being in your 20's or even 30's does not have the social stigma that comes with 40 and beyond. At 42 I feel like the same person I was at 16, and probably I'll feel the same when I'm 90. It's frustrating to think that

@Birthday Girl: Yeah - I am surprised at all the negative comments here. I guess I'm out of the "Madonna sucks" loop. I don't see why we are questioning her ability to be a good parent - because she's single? Because she's getting older? Because she has the audacity to continue her career and love life? With as much

An estimated one million children in the country have been orphaned by AIDS.

@Plum-Pie: I'm guessing that, like our Republicans, they think that hardship on businesses is worse than hardship on people. I think then that the solution would be for a company to even out the salaries across the board - lowering some and raising others - that that it's equal, but they don't have to expend more

@shannanigans: agreed, which make the whole thing come off a little reactionary. However, I did find the excerpts funny.

"some of the appeal of dating a banker remains..."It's not even about a $200 dinner," Ms. Petrus said. "It's that he's an alpha male, he's aggressive, he's a go-getter, he doesn't take no for an answer, he's confident, people respect him and that creates the whole mystique of who he is." I think she's as confused

@Penny Plastic: Seriously. Having babies seems to be even a fad in some circles. I was reading a piece lately where they were interviewing a number of new moms, some of whom admitted they had got the baby-bump bug and were now having serious second thoughts once reality set in.

@BigHarv: I do think that most men care about what type of a car a woman drives, and what it says about her (dented lemon, high-maintenance import, VW Beetle) - and after all, he may be riding around in it some day. I think Jezebels would be interested to know what their car says about them, even if they are not the

@jodark: Gives a new meaning to taco truck.

Just like a J.Crew ensemble, nice arms are something the average woman can hope to have.

There's got to be a worse charge than "attempted murder" or even "murder" (if horrifically that is the case). Setting someone on fire is a sick and extreme form or torture.

@MrsJ: You're being generous.

@notthrilled: Yeah. I'd be sprinting to the car with a baby under each arm. Who wants a bunch of gawking jerks shouting out their kid's name and snapping pics?

@snappaloosa: Are you taking the bioidentical ones? I'm still working out the kinks, but I'm amazed how many options are out there.

@Flackette is a Red State Elitist: I'm not that young, but also going through an early menopause. People do not tend to have any idea how debilitating it can be. People tend to think of it as mostly hot flashes, but much worse is the anxiety and terrible mood swings. Still worse is the "brain fog", or inability to

@jejune - the giraffe hugger: There are other options out there now. The one's I'm taking are referred to as "bio-identical" hormones. They are not made from pee, and are basically identical to the ones that our bodies create.

@BeSarcastic: I just started taking HRT due to ovarian failure/early menopause. The dosage of estrogen I'm on is far less than BCP's - and it's my understanding that most women on HRT are taking a similar dosage as I am.
