If you go to the ER, they have to treat you. They might send you a big bill, but they don’t make you pay up for or refuse to see you. Even if you’ve racked up a big bill you haven’t paid from going to the ER, they won’t refuse you (source: I’m a poor Amuurrkican.)

Trauma is one of the main reasons people turn to drugs. The majority of addicts start out trying to mask some kind of pain. I dislike it when people (not you, obviously) “anyone can get addicted!”.
