WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.

I think I’m getting too old for Jezebel. Snarky articles about an upstanding young professional actress taking time to educate herself about feminism and her role in the world makes me want to throttle your entire editing team.

To be fair, she’s been working since she was 10 and she’s wealthy. Taking time off for college and to consciously self-educate seems more laudable than always running after the next part.

Emma Watson is basically living my 22-year-old self’s dream life. And I can’t even hate, because I feel like she’ll do better things with it in the long run than I would have done.

I don’t blame people for taking advantage of class privilege if they are aware of it. She seems to be. So there was no blame on her in my statement. I think she gets it and when she doesn’t, she learns.

bell hooks is perhaps the greatest thinker currently living. I’m starting her We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity today. I can’t wait for the truth to seep into my unworthy brain. May she have a long life. Emma Watson should sit down with Emma Stone and explain what the fuck was wrong with Aloha and how that feeds

Its so weird to me that he is forced to apologize for his (admittedly awful) comments but the orangutan ring leader Donald Trump is like "No I would literally punch them" and enough people are like "OH DONALD" that he gets away with it

On the one hand, taking a sabbatical for personal development is the height of class privilege. On the other, this is about the best thing she can do with her time.

I’m a huge fan of her hair, and I think the Motown focus is a great way to emphasize Detroit’s cultural heritage. But it also makes me think the focus will be the early 1960s, I.e before the Detroit riots of 1967. I’ll also be interested to see if the books address redlining and school segregation in Detroit in any

Demi sounds like every new convert to any idea- overly enthusiastic with super high standards that just isn’t practical. I hope she calms down soon for her sake.

All applause to those who have spoken out, but I really dislike comments that then assume some moral high ground or Feminist bonafides. Like, okay, now I’m wondering if you really support Kesha or if it’s just for your own ego.

I find it pretty gross that a story about Dr. Luke’s long term abuse of Kesha has turned into yet another attack on the women who don’t do enough. Let’s consider what might happen if we all used that energy to shame Dr. Luke instead.

For fucks sake.

Demi is being an asshole. Straight up. Whatever the ins and outs of announcing giving the money (though it seems Kesha’s mother was on that), Taylor did something substantive. Support is fantastic and I’ve no doubt Kesha appreciates all that she’s received but hell if a fat bill hanging over your head doesn’t make an

I can’t believe that I’m supporting a Taylor Swift, feminist move but I am and I’m impressed. This is actually the first instance of her understanding what basic feminism is.

Because instead of railing on the system of patriarchy and mistreatment of survivors, Demi decides to use her voice to send 5 tweets on how feminists aren’t doing a good enough job of defending each other.

Women’s Empowerment maybe needs a nice cup of Sleepytime? Come back in the morning ready to fight the good fight. No much good ever comes from a 2:30 am tweet. All nighters make me nervous for the tweeter. #Ambien/Ambeyond

For those of us under the impression that the actual people who failed Kesha were her abuser, her record label, a corrupt judicial system that values corporate interests over personal safety—we were wrong! The real people at fault? Feminists!
