There have been those rumors that a remake of AC1 is coming. When Mirage leaked there was also a season pass that leaked and AC1 would have been part of that. Mainly because they could do a lot of asset sharing. But of course the rumor could be nothing or was something at one point and Ubisoft canned it.

From what I understand, the planets are actually 3d modeled, but just very very big. Some of the faster-flight movement mods on PC might allow for the “pulse drive” option you’re talking about? But yeah, doesn’t seem like it would’ve been too hard to implement - other than maybe making a too-easy way to just pulse out…

Given the 3d cutscenes, it makes the gameplay graphics look that much more dated and jarring. I kind of wish they had bit the bullet and rebuilt the game in a 3d graphics engine, or found a way to replace the 2d enemies with 3d models.

Lots of luck exploiting Lord of the Rings. I feel like that’s a franchise that’s been seeing diminishing returns for years now. The Hobbit movies were middling, the games haven’t been setting the world on fire, and it feels like the Amazon TV series was completely upstaged by House of the Dragon.

Respawn is developing a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, for example, as well as a first-person shooter and strategy game.

Aside from what looked like a very fluctuating 30fps on the stream (it could be video issues...hopefully), this looks amazing. I like that they just made the 1313 game, except with fewer Nathan Drake shenanigans, and a more varied worlds to commit crimes in.

Man, can’t recall when I was last this excited by a Star Wars game, but that looked really fun. Also I am glad that I was wrong as I was constantly prepared to groan when someone pulled out a lightsaber, but avoided that trap.

I love first person games but honestly it is crazy that this is going to be first person.
