@Communist Pope: He has a bit of a point, though (if mostly unrelated). I mean, I'm a pretty big fan of Ebert so sure I'll click through an article about him. But it would be neat to see a series of interviews with game programmers. And I mean actual developers, the guys you never hear about aside from reading the

@broadwayblue: I'm also curious, what kind of cases are people using that this is actually useful? I run pretty hard and I've destroyed iPods with sweat and rain, even in "sport" armbands. No way I'd go out with my phone, as cool as these apps seem to be in theory.

@Dreamwriter: Right, so you don't get to see their high-res (retina display) graphics, you get the low-res graphics blown up to iPad size. If you want the best experience on an iPad, you're advised to wait for the iPad-specific version.

8 of 14 released on time? Isn't that actually better than the pros?

@dumlaox: Glad to see someone mention Cosmic Smash. A classic among classics.

@swarmster: I meant to stick a winky face in there somewhere. It reads a little on the grouchy side. :]

@wzsddtc2: hehe, yes, I forgot that our BFF Google could never do that.

@jupiter.is.sentient: Since everyone's ignoring your actual point, let me say I've always had the same question about Tokyo Flash's watches. I don't care if I have to recharge it every night, I want it to be on all the time. A watch is useless to me if I have to stop and interact with it just to look at it.

So basically, they want to encourage speeding through yellows (countdown to red), while simultaneously encouraging people to speed into the intersection as fast as possible (Mario Kart countdown to green)? Yeah, I can't think of any reason why that could be a bad idea.

@senselocke: Hey, ESPN eXtreme Sports was legitimately awesome!

@DigitalTwisted: Just to clarify for those playing at home, a 2x Blu-ray drive is equivalent to about a 7x DVD drive. So the Xbox 360's 12x DVD drive is not quite twice as fast at full speed than the PS3's Blu-ray, not six times faster.

Yeah, sounds more like a "capabilities" talk for investors. But in any case - and I'm really not one to typically defend spying on people - sometimes I wonder, are targeted ads really such an evil thing? Advertisements wouldn't be nearly as annoying if they were always about things I'm interested in.

I imagine some people buy these Games-on-Demand, since they occasionally put up new ones, but I've never understood the attraction. Can anyone who buys them clue me in?

@Brodka: regrettably: I don't think that's a sure thing, but regardless...Kinect works by creating a skeleton from a depth map. In cases where one arm can't be isolated in the image, how does it determine the location of the "second arm"?

Without the use of one arm != less than two arms.

@arkage: Nintendo's sold how many Wiimotes? There was a number the other week. 80 million or something. They're the standard control method for the most popular game console of this generation. Kinect reviews have all put it's practical motion sensing capabilities as about equivalent but with greater space limitations
