It’s the higher octane rating of ethanol that enables most of the power increase. E85 is about 105 octane, and allows the ECU to get super aggressive on timing advance since knocking is greatly diminished. Ethanol also has a cooling effect on the intake charge air.

Depends on the car but typically E85 fuel economy is about 65-75% of 91. So in certain markets like Iowa and Illinois, where corn gas is cheap, it can be slightly more economical too.

Buddy of mine has an Evo that makes 350 whp on crappy 91. It makes 500 whp on E85.

I just did a frozen lake autocross for the first time last weekend. They plowed out a course but still left enough snow to have traction. Absolute blast. And it was fun to see how ridiculously fast the studded tire cars were.

I have a recurring dream/nightmare where I’m driving a car from the backseat, and have basically zero visibility and the brakes don’t work. This is giving me shivers.

Maybe I’m weird, but I’ve got breakfast cereal going all the way. I don’t eat it every day, and when that craving hits, I NEED to have it. Multiple bowls. Capn Crunch or Cocoa Pebbles work best.

Holy crap you’re right! I couldn’t remember what car they did the skids knob on but it must have been the 180. It’s crazy how unrecognizable that car is after only 3ish years. I still squealed when Moog called it Our 180.
