I didn’t buy the game, but not buying the game isn’t going to do anything to stop legislation. You shouldn’t justify harassment, justifying harassment is what leads to people born into different situations creating legislation that acts to restrict the bodily autonomy of individuals.

Playing the game has nothing to do with it and attacking people over it is not winning anything at all. I guarantee mose of the people doing this have added nothing to the fight for trans rights. I vote for it, pay into it, and am myself gender fluid and was unsure of being trans and I even try to help the community

I can accept wide sweeping legislation that acts to restrict the bodily autonomy of individuals but I draw the line at being mean to a vtuber.”

I decided to click on the trending tab and take a look at this for myself for some ungodly reason, and holy shit, the amount of people who were “calling for war” as they put it, against trans folks over this and literally hoping people would kill themselves over the harassment was *insane*. It was the most brain

i think every open world game runs the risk of feeling market-tested and slightly bland... this one, though, feels like they fell face first into that tendency.

i thought the story was done better in Enslaved, to be honest.

The article insists that Forbidden West absolutely deserved an award as if it was a foregone conclusion, but doesn’t make a compelling argument as to why. It blames outside forces (like Elden Ring) for its snubs, and doesn’t even spend a moment to introspect that maybe there was something about the product itself that

ok, there’s precedent for this. The first game was basically given to everyone during the early stages of COVID. Also, the second game was packaged into bundles that were (probably) the easiest way to get a PS5. I wonder if either got any more engagement when those happened. I’m not sure how much more a PS Plus

I’m just one of the absolute trash humans that just didn’t think the first game was all that special. Cool concept, interesting robot dinosaurs, beautiful visuals, been-there-done-that gameplay mechanics, bland-as-hell story, unnervingly stiff facial animations, lifeless voice acting. And all the usual open world

I’m still trying to power through the first and finally finish it. It’s honestly been a chore. I remember really enjoying the first 8-10 hours but now, admittedly years after I started, I just don’t care and want it to be over. I’m not into open-world games as much in general so that is a big part of it. I’ll skip the

Literally every time I hear someone mention this game I have to pause for a split second and remember they’re not talking about Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Forbidden West was really good, don’t get me wrong, but that sense of wonder the first had was gone for me going in, obviously. I got the Ubisoft fatigue barely halfway through the main story, so many icons on the map, so many things to do, so many repetitive tasks, it just became a bit too much.

I think your latter point is the biggest one. It was another open-world game with crafting and basic sidequests and things to climb but not to marvel at, and coming out (for the second time) against a competing open-world game that managed to break through that fatigue with better execution just wasn’t lucky.

Not going to lie. I got to SF and then quit playing and never went back. The story of the game (like most SP games) did nothing for me and I was in it just for the environments. Once I had unlocked the whole map I lost interest immediately. I don’t need anymore Aloy ever again. Thanks.

I kind of get how it has faded. I played it at launch and quite enjoyed my time with it, to the point that it’s one of my few platinums. But I can only sort of remember the plot in broad strokes. The game has fantastic presentation and production values, and great voice acting, but the plot is sort of uninspired and

I feel like the issue is that this felt a lot like another expansion versus an entirely new game and also pandemic delays and this being a PS4 game kinda affected this game.

Also, Open World Fatigue.

non-ironically I blame the dreadful title this franchise has. “Horizon”? Generic and uninspired as fuck, although the subtitle “Forbidden West” is a little bit better in this regard. No wonder it seemed to fell off the popular consciousness so quickly.

Yeah. Like, on the one hand I don’t think it’s good in any way that the game was rigged, but maybe don’t risk your life’s stability on the off chance you might win a game show, as a general rule.

Yeah, but the Squid Game on the show wasn’t rigged. What made the whole concept so dark was that people who lost the games were killed, but the games actually were set up to be fair contests. Given that, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people signing up for the reality version to expect that the reality show would

Good.
