Looks ridden hard and put out wet.  Could not even wash the car and the seats are trashed.  I suspect it has over 132k on the odo, not 32k

“it’s trail-rated y’all, it’ll take it.” 5 minutes later.... ”dang!”

Having spent a lot of time on the beaches of South and North Carolina the only thing that surprises me about this is that there isnt a 2nd Bubba’s truck stuck axle deep trying to pull the Jeep out. “I kin git ya otta der. Ma truk kin get troo der”.

I know, for myself, I’ve always had a hard time understanding the difference between the words trail and hurricane.

It’s OK. Sometimes I don’t think either.

Test drive with dealer when both car and I were new. My original home in Watkins Glen. Dealer *made me drive off road in woods* Did not buy but a great memory. thank you. If I may say yall are the spiritual successors to David E Davis and Brock Yates

I didnt realize bartertown was off of I-95. I may have to stop in and ask who run bartertown.

When interviewed for the Nine O‘Clock News, Mr. Rockatansky blamed the Jews for the oncoming hurricane, the price of gas and everything else wrong with the world’.

Why do you hate fun, Max?

Be smart like this guy (seen in line in South Florida):

Still need to make a trip up there.

Thanks for writing such an epic piece, its 110% Jalopnik and the kind of writing that keeps me wasting work time on this site!

You are completely forgetting or ignoring a major component of their decision making: customer demand. Personally, I want a full EV, not some crappy half-baked hybrid. GM has offered hybrids on nearly every segment of car they make for 20 years now. They have always gotten cancelled after selling in meager quantities

“GM and VW are idiots”, you could have stopped there.

Unless something crazy happens, a straight electric is just not practical for long journeys.  Not enough range, takes too long to recharge.  I have a 650 very rural miles to drive next week.... there's stretches without cell service.  Darn sure no charging stations...

Hybrids are a terrible half-measure because they have the complexity of two different drive trains that are mashed together. So now, you can have failures in either propulsion system, or in the systems that couple them together.
