You asked if claims are more suspect when "bad things are happening in your life" or, another way to put it, "when you have ulterior motives." The answer IN REAL LIFE, is yes. Not sure what you meant by "real life," because it doesn't get any more real than court. I think you meant "in an ideal world."

Well, their defense (successful defense) said she was "divisive". She probably wasn't invited because she specifically was a social liability. Not because she was a woman, but because she specifically was weird, mean, socially awkward, whatever.

This is why you're not invited to drinks after work. Lighten up.

"So any complaint you make when other bad things are happening in your life are suspect?" YES—> 100% YES. As a defense attorney its one of the first things we look for!

No, that's being a normal human being. Man or woman. I mean come on get a grip.

I want to star this 100x

I think the point is that a hoop skirt is not as representative of "slavery" as the swaskita was to "Nazis" and therefore its a foolish analogy.

So men in a group are automatically intimidating!? No I don't think it ever occurred to them that they would be intimidating because they probably assumed that she was a rational person.

Their goal was to intimidate!? Where the hell did you get that!? They were in the DINING HALL! holy shit you are nuts.

Seriously?.....seriously???? get a grip.

they approached her IN THE DINING HALL!! Like.....literally the safest environment on campus.

soooo are you a GG-er or just didn't get the joke?

....."much more smarter"?

I think you can compartmentalize "should we have the death penalty? No" while at the same time accepting "but the reality is we have the death penalty, and he definitely fits the bill."

omg, seriously, eff you

But what about the heavyweight division? Although the boxing and ufc heavyweight divisions are pretty lackluster from an entertainment standpoint right now, the heavyweight champ is usually considered "world champ." So in that case, there is a "true" champion isn't there?

Seems like basic math is lost on you

hahahah.... this is hilarious. Don't worry, when you grow up and go to college theres going to be a class called "economics", it will all make sense after that.

I think its more timing than anything else, look at Mike Tyson. I haven't researched it, but I'm sure there haven been black and white athletes with domestic abuse in their past, but are still highly regarded because it happened in the 70s or 80s when no one cared. I think its more about these events having pictures/

Didn't Mike Tyson basically do the same thing?
