I thought I was cursed with Fallout 3 for a long while.  I bought the fancy PC edition and could not get it to run.  Eventually I had to figure out that I needed to edit how many processor cores I was letting the game use and how to do that.  I was using an 8 core Bulldozer AMD processor at the time.
