H-D’s owner base will not support any truly new bike. If they did, there would be a V-tour based on the V-rod, the Buell Ulysses would had been fully accepted as a Harley, tracker versions of the sportster would be a hot selling item and ready to ride hard on the street. etc. etc.

Read through most of the replies and no one mentioned that a parachute was used on those first two bombs to slow them down and give the B29 more time to hot foot it out of the blast. Don’t know what the top speed of a B29 was, but am certain they were doing it on the way out.

At age 65 all I can say about your quiting riding at a mear 61 is “Kids Today”. (and Get Off My Lawn!).

Man up, author boy. Accepting the reality of crashing is the only way to ride. If you don’t think everyone will crash, stop trying to push helmet laws. (reality check there) Been riding since 1976 and it’s ATTGAT and ride like “they’re trying to kill you” all the time for me.
