Well, considering how many other medical professionals kept it under wraps, sadly I think they could find plenty to look other other way.

What I don’t get about it, is how did this help them get medals? I mean, there’s no shortage of competent doctors, is there? I would think gymnasts free of abuse would perform better, if anything.

Correction- Cathy Rigby McCoy just (as in days ago) joined the USA Gymnastics board, replacing the members who resigned. You should check out her Facebook page for her amazingly perfect statement about these matters. She’s an amazing person and the sport is better for her being on the board.

Is this the first time you’ve heard about this story?

You’ve spent three hours here responding to comments and you didn’t even listen to the clip?? What

Honestly, I didn’t listen to the clip...

Can I just point out that you are defending a position where you are actively refusing to actually watch/learn the actual context of events. Like what happened. While also defending the right to just insult peoples kids in general discussion as long as they are shown on camera.

And here we are. Do you always just read the headline and make a judgment? If so, I have an interesting deal on some land you might be interested in acquiring.

Ummm ok? It’s still incredibly inappropriate for someone with no relationship to said child to call them a “pissant” on a regional radio station.

That line really stood out to me too and your comment resonates in my soul. It is wrenching to read all of these accounts - I am in awe of these women and also in shreds, forever facing down the same demons.

Starred and unstarred, just so I could star again.

I’m so thankful that she stepped forward and for journalists like yourself have continuously covered the unfolding story. I remember on this day last year being literally nauseous reading the Indy Star story, as I counted the 10+ friends and teammates that had visited him for YEARS of treatments, and all of the

I can’t even imagine. This story still fills me with so much sadness and rage each time I read about it.

Very few people know how difficult this is for a person who has undergone events that lead to traumatic stress. We work so hard to bury these events, to contain the emotions that are breaking us inside while trying to carry on with our lives among people who don’t have a fucking clue about jack shit on this Earth,
