Yeah, out of morbid curiosity, I’ve been looking at the Steam forums for several new/upcoming ‘big’ games, and among all the “woke is killing games!” idiocy, there’s a recurring thread of “the evil feminist/leftist/woke/etc movement is making all the videogame women ugly!” One dude going on about how he refuses to buy

This isn’t related to the main troubling point of the article and I know that the internet is filled with dumb things, but that feminity praise tweet from Poliwar is so stupid that I can’t stop lauhing about it. Like if I read a parody account stating something like, I would shrug it off trying too hard. That is art.

Isn’t this just “prestige horror” all over again?

I liked that show but that was insane to me. No dude, even close to dying of thirst/starvation, would see THAT THING and be like “Totally an angel. God is good!”

Say it with me now:

It. Doesnt. Fucking. Matter.

I find the avoidance of the word “zombie” kind of pretentious. Embracing the genre and the tropes doesn’t preclude you from doing something unique (which to the show and game’s credit is exactly what they’re doing)

But avoiding the term and any zombie-related label just smacks of posturing to me. And it feels like by

I loved that moment where Tommy feels he has to be like “Naw it ain’t like that, we’re not commies!”. I got the sense Tommy hadn’t seriously questioned or disavowed the commune’s political order at any point, and he was just slipping into his pre-apocalypse political persona in front of Joel to save face.

Separate the art from the artist

Separate the art from the artist

You cant separate the art from the artist when the ‘art’ is what keeps her relevant and influential enough to promote transphobia on a massive scale.

Dude, I haven’t even *heard* of this game before. Hogwarts Legacy rides on an IP that influenced millions and has an enormous baked-in audience that have cared about it and what its creator has to say. Atomic Heart has, uh, none of that. Of course discussion around it ain’t of the same magnitude.

How exactly does this game get “a pass” when there was enough controversy that the composer donated his entire salary to charity?

Is your argument that unless you can talk about all problematic things you can’t talk about one problematic thing without it seeming odd that you’re not talking about all the other problematic things?

> A lot of big name VAs such as Jennifer Hale have a lot of range and as a result have the entire industry in a chokehold

I’m pretty sure that the creeper preying on minors is far worse than a comment about fujoshi

I think a voice actor trying to screw kids is justifiable outrage. I don’t know what a fujoshi is.

What is true: All of the screenshots of the chat logs. Yes, all of the cringy sex talk. Yes, I did threaten suicide if it got out.

This is one of those incredible ouroboros headlines. Lambasting clickbait while being clickbait? Could something possibly be more on-brand for this site? Extraordinary.

Sure, you could make the connection that buying the Harry Potter game directly lines She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named’s pockets, but as we know, there is no ethical consumption under capitalism.

In my main grocery store, the plant based meat section is in between the beef/pork section and the chicken section of the refrigerator. So the Impossible ground beef is right next to the regular ground beef. I don’t think it helps sales; in fact, it probably hurts. The packaging and portions are smaller, the price is
