It definitely feels like a bad parody of ‘My Favorite Murder’ which I assume was the inspiration but, as you said, bad direction makes it seem like a joke as opposed to a real one.

I must admit I half expected a reveal that Teddy was on Kurt/Olsen’s payroll (still betting on Olsen being behind Kurt’s actions which helps explain how Kurt gets away with it until now) and for him to knock out Angela when Dexter ignored the call at first.

‘Direct dialogue with management’ - You know, that thing we’ve ignored for decades? Yeah, keep doing that, none of this union shit. We’ll play nice this time, we pinky swear!’

Ah yes the baffling standards when it comes to importing/adapting material:

‘Is it ok if we show demons inflicting horrific wounds and deaths?
‘Go nuts!’
‘Is it ok if we just reference something pertaining to sex?’
‘Fuck you!’

On one hand I can’t argue it was flat. On the other hand the wrap up of Who arcs almost *always* falls flat so I never went into it expecting anything else. They had explanations for why the majority of pieces were where they were even if they, like the Grand Serpent’s machinations, were perfunctory and didn’t leave

I still think Caldwell is just a minion for Olsen supplying him with bodies while getting his own rocks off on the kill so I’m not too disappointed with his failings this episode. He’s not the big bad he’s a miniboss at best.

Decompression is a bitch - poor thing. Like the blobfish (it might even *be* a blobfish) don’t judge it when it’s been hauled up as it will look nothing like its natural appearance.

Bel left a message that she was seeking the Passenger - presumably he followed the same trail she did.

With the cliffhanger I’m left wondering if Azure is going to doublecross Swarm and in giving the Doctor her memories back allow her to resist his touch somehow.

I think they’re setting Nyneave up as a red herring for those not familiar with the books and will have it seem to be between her and Rand for who is the Dragon reborn.

Pretty sure Legends will get another season unless they decide to shutter all the CW projects but I don’t think they’ve reached that point yet.

Yeah this is definitely Despero fucking with Flash - the investigation, STAR labs, making people think Joe is dead (or making Barry forget he was - but I’m putting my money on the first one), setting up vague prophecies to set people against him.

I was never fond of Renner so I went in with low expectations but he’s not being especially grating and Steinfeld is a gift so I’m definitely enjoying it so far.

Also willing to wager that Olsen is Audrey’s biological father by one of the missing women - possibly Iris herself. I’d normally think that’s too on the nose but, yeah, this is Dexter.

I think the new killer will end up being Caldwell working for Olsen. It’s definitely Clancy Brown behind the mask (though kudos for at least getting an actor with similar eyes to play Olsen but Lehne’s eyes still don’t match up let alone the build) doing the kill and maybe the pre-kill torture. I suspect Olsen is then

I was really cranky that they were limited to the US only. I’d love to both try them and support Mythical Kitchen which is awesome.

Better than I expected. Love that they’re making use of plenty of color both foreground *and* background not just shades of brown and orange.

As for the opening - the ‘second man’ didn’t escape he was a hallucination.

I’ll give them credit - the visual direction and staging have been great.

I mean that’s all Star Trek, ever. Goofy cultural misunderstandings in the name of humor has been baked in from the start and no series has been untouched by it (except maybe Picard? But I’m sure it’ll get there)

Never even had green bean casserole so that’s a safe nuke for me. If we take it out of the equation cranberry sauce is next on the chopping block.

Definitely should have gone with Papas John as the plural....
