It is so hard to get people to view prisoners as people worthy of at least basic rights.

They really need to start playing some of the cards they’re holding. There’s only so much you can have happening while having *nothing* happening. It is great to build up multiple tension points and points of conflict but you need to actually *use* some of them sometimes.

Man, I know people have been really going against that whole survival instinct thing with this, especially in the US, but I am still baffled at how they think they’ll make enough money for reopening to be worth it.

Yeah it’s basically just instant dry yeast. I haven’t really noticed a difference at all.

I can still only find ‘pizza yeast’ at the local shop but it’s still good enough as long as you ignore their directions for it.

Poor Enoch. But a great episode and I love the thought of having Sousa on the team going forward.

A winner that did not make the list: Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches. Basically a chipwich but with Oreo instead of chocolate chip cookies. No over-frozen chocolate chip concerns, it sogs a little but as it is closer to the classic ice cream sandwich in content the sog feels ‘right’, and a greater taste dimension to the

Spoilers for non comic (or Young Justice) nerds:

Reese’s, Kit-Kat, Snickers, Twix.

I think Yoyo’s issue isn’t post-Shrike but her new arms. She eventually relented to them but she has not *accepted* them yet and I assume the lack of cohesion is at fault.

Nah I’ve been pretty clear that I think this does a disservice to the name and would have been slightly more tolerable if it had been completely unrelated. Not good, but better.

That being said the Michener storyline works (and would likely work even better) with zero supernatural elements thus still making it,

Yeah the cops still haven’t managed to adapt to the cellphone age.
If they had stuck to empty optics - kneeling with protesters, tut-tuting about brutality while not actually doing anything about it, etc. This would have likely fizzled out over the first week if not the first weekend. Then they could have gone back to

The super creepy incest vibe between Josefina and Mateo continues even while they fight.

Loved it. Not perfect, as stated, but a very solid episode. The Sisqo fight scene, the character interactions, all of it.

We’re early in but I love how they’re making the villains real, lived in people with lives and families. Yes, they’re still evil - it’s not an attempt at redeeming them - but they’re not just mustache twirling caricatures or cut outs.

I’m not minding the series but, yeah, it really drags down the Penny Dreadful name attached to it. It has none of the feel or atmosphere of it’s predecessor.

Honorable Mention goes to E.V.O: Search for Eden where you start as a little fish and ‘evolve’ pieces of yourself (and eventually become an amphibian and further). You never become a true shark though so it doesn’t fit - but a lot of the same ‘devouring the smaller, dodging the larger’ themes.

Allison comes close but Aimee wins it with first rate picks every round.

I’m surprised they didn’t have a reveal as to how Lazlo’s music keeps escaping out into pop-culture. I fully expect the reason is Colin doing it to get a little snack off Lazlo every few decades.

I almost wish this had been used for a lower stake episodes so they could have gone even more all-out-zany with it in a way that an end of arc episode can’t. That said it was amazing and I loved it.
