I would still like the see the Infinity Gauntlet storyline play out, but you do bring up good point. Comics is rife with universe-changing events, but back in the 90's, crossovers happened almost on a weekly basis. I remember when Spidey and Darkhawk and Moonknight and Nova had a fantastic (if very generic) crossover.

Honestly at this point - I know I am inviting the hate and serving it drinks here - I’d like to see them ditch the whole Infinity business and just do team up movies for a while. The whole saving the universe thing is kind of played out. Scaled down personal superhero movies are where it’s at. With special appearances

You’re missing my point - both were movies she headlined. If the OP’s point is that ScarJo is a box office draw, then Under the Skin should have performed far better than it did - even for a dark, experimental film. A smash? No, that’s not what I’m suggesting. But a “proven box office draw” - his words - doesn’t turn

Yeah, comparing Lucy to Under the Skin is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Under the Skin was a very experimental and dark film that also didn’t have much of a wide release. Lucy did have a wide release and I think it was much more palatable to general audiences.

Honestly I’d never seen him before and while he does more look the part than Jeremy Renner, I don’t think it’s a casting problem. They’ve just written this Hawkeye to be more boring than a post (not to mention the secret family that wouldn’t really work with this Hawkguy).

Change it into prequel series about younger Hawkguy bro. How he got car crash of life together bro. MCU Hawkguy now married and lead Avenger but used to be all pizza dog and aw, coffee, no bro.

I’m pretty much in agreement about Blunt, but I (and it’s just my opinion) haven’t really seen any improvement. I think directors know a bit more how to handle her character than Favreau did then (and how much they need to cut around her), but I don’t see the improvement on her part.

Agree,

I’ve always felt the same. I love SJ in other movies, but somehow she doesn’t fit here. I was thinking Karen Gillan would be good would be good option.

I think she’s gotten better since her first appearance in Iron Man 2. That being said, I still think Emily Blunt would have been perfect for it.

I hate to agree because I love Cheadle and I love War Machine over Iron Man, but yeah. Age is definitely creepy up on Cheadle.

Every time I saw Rhodey I was thinking Cheadle was looking a bit long in the tooth.

It’s about damn time.

Hell my only beef about Thor’s casting was no Baldar the Brave lol

Who slams them for casting the character as he was depicted in the source material? I keep seeing this written but no one has actually backed it up with anything beyond of substance.Mostly because when they’ve casted this way in the past the resulting character was not a 2D stereotype.

I am with you. I say err on the side of giving the Asian actor the role. This isn’t a Mandarin situation were you are dealing with a villainous character. The Ancient One can be treated very respectfully with an Asian actor portraying him/her.

You do lay out how insanely contradictory PC culture has become.

Atleast we have Sonic Boom!

Sega hates everyone outside of Japan? Par for course, as usual.

Fine then. Don’t take my money.
