agreed! My pregnant daughter is herself again and carrying a healthy baby because of methadone. She abused heroin and xanax for the last 10 years of her life. She now lives for her baby and not for Heroin....

I think you might have the most hardest job in the world. However, You are damn good at it and are able to separate your real life from your “work life” Good for you!!!

Not if their doctor knows they are on opiates would their baby be taken away.

don’t know much about that but i am sure it is worse. There is a huge Heroin epidemic here. And unfortunately we here in the US don’t have enough facilities to help our addicts

I totally agree with you. Your job is to protect the child and most people have not seen what you have seen and may not understand the compassion and pain that comes with the job. fyi...The mother who is on methadone therapy while pregnant MUST stay on methadone because if they stop cold turkey so does the baby. The chances of miscarriage or pre mature labor is very high if thats done. I spoke to my daughter’s doctor (my daughter is 7 months preg. and on methadone therapy) and her doctor said…
