i'm on IFSJ, and am familiar with the M715 & 725s. Most of the ones that stayed on-duty were converted for propane, as well. *shrug*
Yup; that year they still made the classic Willys body panels too. Unfortunately Willys America doesn't carry it, irrc; we were living in Arizona for a while & they were about an hour away.. looked at them for the ring gear.

I agree; ended up with one as a Rental in Hawaii. Was actually a pretty decent SUV for all the hate it gets. The exterior is up to personal taste, however.
my ACR was a 1st gen DOHC; my Sport was also a DOHC, but man, could you tell the difference in the suspension ALONE. Was glad when I put the SRT/4 seats in it. SOOO comfortable.
Neon sales took a nose-dive when Daimler took over for the 2nd Gen & plumped em up with little to no changes otherwise. '98 was the best selling year for the Neon, until the SRT's came around, iirc.
.. and? A Neon is cheap. A stick-shift neon is harder to find, however. People tend to keep them.
