A Good Man is Hard To Find

I don’t even like the constant use of the term “teenager” to describe her, just because she was thirTEEN. That’s a kid, a little girl. “Teenager” tends to imply a small amount of accountability. A relationship with an 18 year old - notice, not also described as a “teenager” - is not hers to own. She’s the victim of a

Reading a diary is horribly invasive and psychotic, I’ll give you that. But c’mon, kids have NO good reason to want privacy when it comes to the internet. Kids are dumb. Child predators are smart.

Yes. My mother didn’t set up keylogging or anything, but she did restrict stuff...so I had a friend make me another aol account without the restrictions. She threatened to do keylogging, but she didn’t know how — though she did monitor the hell out of my browsing history. And maybe for some parents, tracking your kid

And keep the lines of communication open - you can do this by never acting like what you’re being told is stupid or shocking. It may take immense acting skills, but if you want your child to tell you what’s up, do not make them feel like an idiot for telling you.

As someone whose mother did this (reading my diary, snooping etc) I am no longer honest with my mother and became very, very good at lying and hiding things.

Counterpoint: I was bullied at school and sought out older guys specifically because I did not have a social life at school.

I just posted a response above how that is not necessarily correct. I know this working for a news station for 10 years.

Actually, you all are incorrect. There have been many times where the reporters have asked for that information where I worked, and sometimes were told the information was under embargo until the next of kin were informed. One of our reporters came to the parents’ door with that information who didn’t know yet.

As former bully (yes I was an awful kid) I kinda disagree. There was a girl I bullied in junior high who ended up being cutter and her friends blamed me when she left school for it. Obviously it wasn’t totally my fault. I mean she had a dad who ignored her, she wasn’t very smart and put into the remedial classes and

That’s a good point. I have a lot of medical problems, so much of my childhood was spent in the hospital. No matter how sick I was, I was never as sick as the other kids. Many of the kids I met ended up dying, or I’d walk by their rooms and see them hooked up to ventilators and tubes. It really ages you fast. After

Almost anything can lead a kid to think that. I read and could write on a college level by third grade. It made me think I was ready to read “mature” stories...yeah, long story short it took my 2/3s thru the smut scene to even realize it was porn. Porn I would not have been ready for if I had actually cared (seriously

Yeah I thought that sounded like a little too easy of an explanation. I was into older guys when I was a teen and snuck around, but I hadn't been bullied, nor did I have an absentee father. I just liked older guys.

So I’m not a fan of Dr. Phil as a person, but I watch his show a lot because he has interesting guests and topics. This episode was heartbreaking, and the father was amazingly forgiving of the police and news for announcing Nicole’s body being found before telling him.

I never use either word, but frankly strong outrage is what give them power.

Maybe before jumping to the conclusion that I’m a person who loathes Hillary and is calling her a cunt and then freaking out about it, you should consider the possibility that I’ve got nothing against her and this is a lyrical substitution of a well-known Kelis song parodying the whole Berniebro phenomenon in the

I hate you for posting that, but I hate myself more for laughing...

And people still doubt Bernie can make a difference.

My Bernie vote brings all the boys to the yard

Forget the presidency; glitter bombing Randall Terry is Nobel Prize-worthy.

Still a better candidate than all the Republicans - every single one of them has crazy, awful positions, if you dig down. This guy’s saner, too.
