Huge chance you were behaving like a loudass child, as in my experience, I’d say this is never done without  the exact intention of making the loud one understand he’s behaving like a child.

For instance, Brown said, if you’re at a movie theater, and the couple in front of you are chatting loudly, tap them gently on the shoulder and tell them, “I’m so sorry, I’m having a really hard time hearing the movie.”

My go to line in the movies is “excuse me, we can hear you,” which operates on the assumption that they don’t know how loud they’re being.  It usually works, unless people just don’t care.

Came here to say the same thing. There was ZERO chance we weren’t going to be hearing from Madonna after the success of A Star is Born and the very real possibility that Gaga will be nominated for Best Original Song and Best Actress at the Oscars. It has to sting after her numerous failed attempts at a film career.
