As a black woman I have to get this off my chest. If I see one more black man say this shit was brought up because of Birth of a Nation I am going to scream! I have known about this for at least 3 or 4 years you didn’t want to know don’t start with the conspiracy theories.

Not sending people to prison for non-violent crimes is not that radical an idea, actually.

I understand your want to make sense of this but honestly your question completely flies over the reality and history of being black in America and crash lands into yet another flawed and deeply complicated issue.

But that’s also from an era when women probably didn’t sign contracts. Like the founders who enshrined “innocent until proven guilty,” which I generally find to be a righteous notion, clearly didn’t consider that means rape victims are assumed to be liars.
