"Chefs, it's well known that the Aztecs practiced human sacrifice to appease their gods and to attempt to influence the fortunes of their world - receive a good yield on crops or good weather. This season, you will compete against your competitors to not become the human sacrifice for good television ratings. Chefs,

Fair enough. The comment triggered my pedantic accounting training and forced me to submit corrections for the record. Involuntary work-related corrections. Thankfully, for everyone involved, I stopped myself before I inserted citations to the IRC and bored everyone to death. However, extremely strong tequila does

"Brooke wont suffer the massive luxury tax if she consumed the whole bottle before leaving Mexico; The tax on the empty decanter itself is negligible, if she even bothers to declare it."
Huh? The tequila is part of her winnings and should be taxed as such according to the fair market value of the good. The value of

Emily wasn't such a liability for Sheldon since this challenge played to all her strengths - she didn't have to make decisions, she didn't have to cook anything (only prep), she wasn't given any screen-time, and no one had to taste her food.

"You ignored the drink," seems a strange reason to send someone home from a cooking competition.

Blais. F'in Blais. After he asked Brooke if she was "playing it safe? Is this a winning dish" and that he only asked because he understands what it means to be in their shoes (because he Was Like there, man), I really, REALLY wanted to Brooke to respond with, "I think it was a winning dish. I trid to cook a good dish

That's not really a spoiler since you can see it on Bravo's website.

Spoiler (not a spoiler because its on one of the preview clips on Bravo): It's not Brooke behind Sheldon, it's Emily acting as his sous for the finale.

Rice! She didn't make rice! On Top Chef! I was hoping that someone (ANYONE!) would just shake their heads for serving pre-packaged, frozen rice.
Padma, please pack YOUR knives!

Counterpoint - he has wasted that cred by being a regular on "Guy [Fieri's] Grocery Games".

I thought so initially too, but on one of the next episode's previews on the TC website shows that Sheldon is cooking at his station with Emily. That is her ponytail. And John is matched up with Katsuji!

That's definitely part of it; it gave him the veneer of unseemly arrogance instead of simple confidence; and even as a judge he always seems to act a little above all the other chefs.
Personally, I also don't think he's not a very interesting judge. He really brings nothing to the table that any other guest judge and

Why would you sous vide ribs? Those things need to be smoked! Or is it that you sous vide the ribs to cook and then add them to a smoker after? Will you still get the same flavor and crust on that? I have so many questions.

You come at the king, you best not miss
I can't explain how much your comment made me smile today.

The list of things I would wait hours for is pretty short. If you exclude things I have to wait hours for - anything from the DMV, doctors, etc - it gets even shorter.

It's the same way I felt (feel?) about the Georgetown cupcakes nonsense here in DC. At its apex, people were passing out waiting for mf'in CUPCAKES?! in 100 degree heat in the summer. When I finally ate one when a friend brought them to a party, I acknowledged it was a pretty good cupcake, but c'mon! It's a cupcake.

Is it somehow different from how he looked anytime throughout the season?

Oh, and according to a NYC friend, it's good, but not standing in line for hours good.

A cronut is a mash-up between a croissant and a donut. Basically, Ansel found a way to fry croissant dough so it doesn't fall apart, and then he made it round and put a hole in it. His bakery makes 200 per day and, at one time, morons stood in line at 4am to purchase one when the shop opened at 8am. I guess it is

I'm glad that Brooke made it through, but when she was plating all I could think was, "Stop it Brooke! That's not a parfait, that is rounds of white cat poop! Stop it!"
