NP. The whole thing looks nice enough that the car would be worth the $3900 for the platform alone, even if the paint underneath isn’t so hot. It would be a great car for a budding mechanic wanting to focus on German cars, too.

I’m almost that age, and I’ve always like the C4 myself (the later ones with the rounded ass, not the earlier indented ones). I like the C5 for its everyman-supercarness, and it generally looks good. But the C5's ass is the stuff of yo’ mama jokes.
I still think that there’s no better car that sums up stonking, crassly unapologetic, in-your-face excess and class stratification than the Maybach Exelero.
Trucks really don’t depreciate all that fast, so unless you’re planning to buy one in 8-10 years, I’d suggest finding a way to save more pennies now.
Great to read a real-world review of this thing being used as a truck, and up to its stated limits. Also awesome that it seems to have done the job with aplomb. I think this RL will handily outsell the last one. It caters to male and female parental units, it looks more like a traditional truck, it’ll be reliable, and…
Why do I get the feeling that even though this car is expected to fetch $2-3m, it will be reported next week that someone paid $4.5m for it and the used exotic market will become even more inflated?
NP even if it’s not the engine choice I would have made.
Uhhh...that is easily one of the most amazing builds I’ve ever seen.
I think he was angry that that Merc owner was defacing his car with the JC Whitney catalog.
+2
I know exactly where that’s at. Pavilions Car Show. Every Saturday year round, 3 PM till whenever. The respectful participants have usually left the premises by 8 PM, which is when the younger, more idiotically inclined crowd makes an entrance.
I vote NP. This is an interesting build because it’s not the typical platform, it looks like a pretty clean garage project that’s nearly complete, and it has a reliable mill at the heart of its drivetrain. FWD yes, but props to this guy for selecting a unique platform and coming up with a workable concept. Hard to…
This is why I don’t understand Ford sticking with the V10. It is such a gas hog. The 6.2 must, then, really be a failure if they decided not to improve that engine and/or replace the V10 with it. There’s simply no need for a V10 configuration, however reliable it may be.
14 diesel MPG sounds quite bad for a single cab-standard bed truck that isn’t towing/hauling anything. That number should be in the high teens unladen.
Ya, I love TFLTruck’s tests. Great real-world applications so make purchase decisions on, and helpful for trailering know-how as well.
If I had to guess, he was going much too fast, swerved and skidded at the height of his speed, and hit a curb, causing the flipping motion. Definitely a dramatic crash given that this appears to be a low-speed area.
I wanted to say NP, but then you showed me rust. Still a nice, clean car, but $4-5k is going to be tops for this.
You do realize that Chevrolet is a French name, right?
You are both speaking my language. I had an 87 SE 5-speed (the car I learned stick on) and a 93 SE 5-speed (with its absurdly tall shifter) after that. I’ve driven a couple A32s and one A33, but none of the models after that. Even the A33 felt like it had a history behind it.
I’d take anything R32 on up. They all have their charms. Never had the chance to drive any of them, but R32-R34 would be fun cars for me, whereas the R35 would be my dd supercar.
