What 50-year-old, out-of-touch executive thought this would be a 'hip' idea?!

Depends on each individual model. My wife's 09 Odyssey does this after a few feet of driving and never unlock automatically. My 07 FJ Cruiser on the other hand, doesn't do anything on its own...
