Misogyny has always been there. The “explosion” is society standing up and calling misogynists out on their shit.

I’ve never tried this beer. Mostly because I find coffee overwhelming, but also because the label grosses me out. I will say, Lagunitas, of all breweries, is pretty reserved with the coffee flavor in their Cappucino stout.
I’ll offer my defense of the Holdo logic hole here: She isn’t a good teacher, much as Poe isn’t a good student.
Well, the real review’s here: https://www.avclub.com/the-last-jedi-locates-that-middle-chapter-empire-strik-1821221823
I was simultaneously disappointed and absolutely in love with this entry.
No, there are poor white people whose neighborhoods are being affected by gentrification.
There was/is a phenomenon in the U.S. called redlining.
salacious cunt is a fantastic word combo.
Isn’t expressing remorse for one’s actions and the hurt they caused the same as saying the words “I’m sorry”? I mean, isn’t that the very definition of what “I’m sorry” means? I’m certainly not defending him; to me it’s a case of “too little, too late,” but I nevertheless acknowledge it as an apology.
The admiration is part of it. It’s where the power comes from. It’s not self-congratulatory, it’s an acknowledgment of the power dynamic that he actively avoided accepting for all these years. He’s demonstrating a new understanding of how his success influences the way people interact with him.
I could offer a quick rewrite:
As everyone is mentioning, this doesn’t make it right and it doesn’t absolve him.
Well first I’d say thank you to the women who stepped forward to speak to the NYT and thus forced Louis’ hand. This would not have happened otherwise. He would have done Colbert, his movie would have come out, and life would have continued on.
I'm not telling you to keep trying something you don't like, but I think sours have such a wide range of flavors, more so than any other beer style. If someone wanted to try it, once is not enough.
Because lots of tart or sour things taste good, such as lemonade, chevre cheese, balsamic vinegar, etc. Sour beer is fermented with the same microbes that make sourdough bread, so it's not like it's some bizarre tortuous thing. It's just beer that tastes a little sour.
The type of white liberal "dating interracially negates personal racism and complicity/white women cannot exert oppression over black men because misogyny" is the precise type of rhetoric this film was meticulously trying to poke gaping holes in. It would have absolutely cheapened the film's messages to have Rose be…
In the video, grandpa basically said "with your natural abilities and our intellect, we can make something great." Also, deer were a metaphor for black people in the film. Think back on the nasty tirade Bradley Whitford's character goes on about them. Think about all the questions Chris got about his athletic ability,…
The whole operation is based on the racist idea that black people are mentally inferior and physically superior. Jesse Owens wasn't the only person who beat the grandfather to qualify for the Olympic team (white men did, too), but he's the only one with whom he was obsessed. He was put in a black body, his wife, too.…
I guess you haven't read anything Peele has said about it.
White women are complicit in racism, too. Wanting her to be innocent is extremely similar to the way so many want to paint Melania and KellyAnne as victims. Making Rose innocent would have diluted the message and let pretty white girls off the hook.
