Do you know how periods work? Do you know how context works? The person they were referring to is a privileged white male and is trying to excuse himself from getting politically involved. That’s completely different from not liking politics but being forced to engage with them anyhow as a means of survival.

Yeah final fantasy is rife with this BS, especially when so much of it revolves around luck. I haven't played the remake yet but I got the same feeling with a few bosses in FFX. The worst was the final boss sequence. Lost to Jecht? Have fun facing sin again for 15 minutes. Honorable mention goes to Seymour flux, one

Thank you. I've literally said your tldr version almost verbatim every time difficulty gets brought up in kotaku. We always get yelled at and lumped in with the git gud crowd or otherwise just ignored.

I think I disagree with your insinuation but you made me chuckle regardless, nice one.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I'm sorry it probably won't gain any traction because it was posted too late and that's because nuanced opinions take longer to write than the more fiery comments. I loved the sociological lens you took with this.

I hardly see the difference between a ‘story mode’ that turns off all difficulty and basically let the game play itself vs watching someone else play it on YouTube or twitch. No one complaining about games not being accessable to them seems to acknowledge this or brought up why this is an unacceptable alternative.

I like that kojima is just as pedantic as us kotaku commenters are.

Sure. Quoting from OP of this thread. Asking for more options isn’t gatekeeping. What straw hat was complaining about was gatekeeping coming from the side of casual gamers. It’s literally the same kind of gatekeeping casual gamers accuse hardcore gamers of doing when they say something like games are supposed to be

That’s the point, it’d be ridiculous to say anyone isn’t being catered to these days, there are so many games on the market. Some casual gamers on kotaku are engaging in the same gatekeeping that they are accusing the hardcore gamers of doing (and some of them are gatekeeping too, dont get me wrong).

You are changing his definition of difficulty and then using it against him. Difficulty can be both discussed subjectively (how difficult it is for the individual player) and objectively (how difficult it is compared to other games with objective references such as hp, damage, save states and so on).

I don't want to individually like every single one of your comments but I think you are spot on here. I don't want you to feel like you are alone dying on this hill, I think you actually hold a perspective that's supported by the majority, just not here on kotaku.

Ever tried let’s play videos or twitch? This is exactly what they are for. If you don't like someone else's personal commentary there are plenty of videos on YouTube that just show gameplay and cutscenes.

Yes, I agree. I still think it’s a neat Easter egg because they could have used any model or a low-poly Tommy and it would have been justified since you are not supposed to see him up close yet.

ACAB

I accidentally did this on my first play through after a few deaths. I didn’t kill him though, he didn’t flinch when I shot him a few times and since your obviously not supposed to kill him at this point I assumed he had scripted invincibility and I just reloaded my checkpoint.

Do you mean Washington DC or DC comics?

Article sets out to prove he is only in it for the money, then lays out evidence that he is in it for the money.

Oh c’mon, Nathan Grayson is the only staff writer who regularly covers twitch. At MOST one in five articles are twitch related, probably closer to 1 in 10. Half the staff does not identify as male, they are overwhelming white granted, but that’s not where you chose to focus your criticism. There are a lot of things to

Yeah, you certainly can’t claim pokimane is over the top if you are at all a fan of Dr Disrespect, Ninja, xQc, or yeah, really any popular streamer.

Boooo! If it acts like a bird and talks like a bird who cares if it's a man in a bird suit? Boooo!
