And yet this is their first game with a premium battle pass AFAIK. Games like MK1 may technically be a game as a service but doesn't really have the predatory aspects and has traditional dlc.

I agree with all of that mostly. Should there be less GaaS titles in general? I don’t like them and almost certainly, but if this is the only GaaS title they’ve released and aren’t planning on launching more anytime soon I’d say they are contributing to the problem less than other studios.

The reason being that Nintendo first party titles are almost universally beloved. Also you are almost certainly going to learn more about the gameplay closer to release

Yeah, my point was that somebody had to try democracy first before it was proven even if it wasn’t America. American democracy more directly built off the Magna Carta and the Iroquois Confederacy than ancient Greece. My core point is a rather obviously true one but still one more conservative people tend to somehow

obviously there are going to be failures but I would hope that every game strives to be great at least from conception. You’re essentially arguing that developers should make more slop. Every game hopes to achieve a high ROI or it wouldn’t be made in the first place, especially high budget games.

Capitalism is a better model than monarchy, mercantilism and feudalism. Needing a proven model is an unrealistic requirement, after all capitalism and democracy weren’t proven when they were first adopted.

I think the point was capitalism leads to this rush to the bottom, not that leaders aren’t held accountable. CEOs are obviously held way more to account than kings, even Karl Marx would argue capitalism is far better than what came before. Its authoritarianism not socialism that does this. Modern day Russia and China are great examples of capitalist countries that still have these problems.

Did you actually suggest the game where you can dress up as Nicki Minaj or a giant marijuana bud takes itself seriously?

Looks crazy good, but that speedometer was WAY off

Games can be good for different reasons?

I mean technically with enough work one could make pretty realistic porn in Minecraft if you just use the blocks as pixels.

How can you tell how interesting these games sound based only on their title?

Its clear what he meant after thinking about it for a second but he could have easily phrased himself in a way that wouldn’t require a double take. It reads like he’s desperate to come off as the good guy, clarity be damned.

The bad reviews are mostly based on the bland campaign because that’s mostly what big review sites are interested in and it’s hard or impossible to review multiplayer pre release. The campaign is indefensible but hardly anyone buys COD for the campaign any more, BO4 didn’t even have one

This isn't true at all to my experience. My KD in the last 10 years of COD has always been very close to 1.0 but individual matches my KD varies anywhere from .3 to to 6. There are also plenty of matches maybe 30 percent or so where one team crushes the other.

You literally just described video games in general.

Using the full scale is only appropriate if you are are grading games relative to other games in the market. Objectively most games are "good" and deserve at least 6 out of 10.

We are all special.
