Taylor Swift seems like a nice enough person, and some of her songs are quite catchy. I don’t see any reason to dislike her or her music. DEAL WITH IT, HATERS.

Lynchburg, Virginia is almost 30% black folks, but yeah, sure, it’s just a city full of lazy racists and not a single person there cares about black people being murdered.

If a town is actually named for something terrible, then sure, change it. Heck, if it isn’t named for something terrible and people there want to change it, I don’t really care. But people like that other commenter should learn what names mean before getting upset about them—and in any event, they shouldn’t judge

Yes, I’ve heard of towns changing their names before.

Don’t drag beef jerky into this. Beef jerky is pure and wholesome. It hates no one and can be eaten by people of all colors and creeds. We should all aspire to be as good as beef jerky.

So because of something unrelated to their founder, they should have changed the name of their town?

Perhaps the guitarist George Lynch is also a descendant. According to at least one commenter here, that probably means his music preserves the proud heritage of slavery.

Go there and ask people. You’ll find a variety of opinions just as you would anywhere else.

Oh, I know. I was half kidding. But by the standards of his day, Lynch’s spelling was kind of all over the place.

(Mish mushkila.)

So? John Lynch himself was opposed to slavery. That seems like an okay heritage to preserve.

John Lynch was an abolitionist. Same surname as the man the act was probably named after, William Lynch, but that doesn’t have any relevance to the naming of those towns.

Dang. Been a while since eco-terrorism has been in the news. Its heyday was more than twenty years ago.

I’m so glad Twitter is zapping people like this instead of, say, Assadists who make fun of suffering Syrian kids.

Some old lady (let’s call her Peg) kept talking about how Trump needs to drain the swamp.

It means “slaves.” It’s a distressingly common slur.

And if you ever want to eat some “slave’s head” chocolates, head to Lebanon.

Aw, you beat me to it.

Word to the wise: thaQueenIsHere is a troll.
