He's modelling his career after Kubrick a lot . As if he's trying to emulate his idol. He's made Non-linear crime movies, dystopian social commentaries, space movies , ripped off rotating hallway setpieces and is now making a war movie.

Nolan = Plot holes
Tarantino = close ups of feet and N-words
JJ Abrams = Lens Flares
M Night Shyamalan= Plot twists
George Lucas= Terrible dialogue and CGI overload.
Plenty of Bloggers smack-talk AVATAR on a regular basis whilst gushing over the latest Marvel of F&F release. Part of it can be because, they sort of need blockbuster scoops/coverage and have to maintain a positive relationship with the studio.
He expanded on the world he set up in the first Terminator and while he still used a similar premise, he also subverted expectations by making Schwarzenegger the good guy this time. Personally, I thought it was genius. Keeping the same structure whilst twisting it just enough to feel completely fresh.
He's like Robert Downey Jr. or Johnny Depp as in he'll keep on recycling the same shtick over and over and run it dry until he's impossible to watch on screen.
He really IS the real life Ben Gates.Talk about actors LIVING their characters.
Nic Cage as Big Boss in 'Metal gear Solid: The Pachinko (nano) machine'
IT HAS ALL THE CLASSIC INGREDIENTS OF A NIC CAGE AUCTION.
Nicolas Cage drank beer off a human skull in 'Drive Angry'. Does that count as something close??
He loves Animals. Like a LOT. He even bought a fucking pet TORTOISE. No surprise there that he has a thing for Dinosaurs
The same people that call it shallow and uninspired are the ones who froth in the mouth for 'Furious 7' or Marvel's output. I don't get it either. It might not be groundbreaking on a story level but it was sincere in it's attempt to wow the audience. I'll happily see a sequel because I know that I'll at least be…
I tried doing something like that but even then couldn't succeed and just gave up. I was also obsessed with making out my sphere grid (which I did) and couldn't handle the mental stress of them both together and just gave up.
The SJW brigade of today would approve of it and would be getting incredibly high scores on metacritic. And 1500 word think pieces on how Yuna's character progression is synonymous with feminist liberation.
Lol. The time we used to have when we were younger.
Wasn't comparing his to QT. Just his definition of what he calls 'hang out movies'.
Yup. I get 'Nam like flashbacks on trying to avoid lightning for one of those 200 times and NEVER succeding.
You do have a point. I played both of those games back-to-back in 2005, long after their original releases and X-2 acted as a nice appetizer after the long, epic to Save Spira from Sin. It lacks the profundity of X but then how could it ever compete? You can't go bigger than killing the Sin cycle. So Square decided to…
It's aged really well compared to some of the more acclaimed RPG's of it's time. You'd be surprised. Was a blast playing the remaster again on the PS4.
Oh yeah. It's best played after you've finished X and undertaken the long, epic quest to defeat Sin /Yu Yevon and brought peace to Spira. Now you get to see your favorite characters goof off and live their lives afterwards and go on silly adventures. Playing both again after all these years on the X/X-2 remaster on…
It's a total blast and feels like it's some silly obscure JRPG that you imported and corrects a lot of design problems that plagued X. But then i'm a big fan of the cheesy/goofy aspects of japanese pop culture and it was right up my alley.
