I still love all the crazy behind the scenes interviews about Dead in the Family, and how Todd wasn't really written to be a dick, but just kinda got away from the writers somehow. Kind of like Garrosh Hellscream. lol

Get Down!
Ray Park for the win. Originally the double sided lightsabre was supposed to have a handle the same size as a single bladed one. Park, an experienced martial artist, took Lucas and the prop makers aside and gave them a 30 second primer on how a polearm is handled. They redesigned the handle to be, you know, useable at…
we've only seen Wells in the suit when he took Eiling. Any other time, it was likely a stuntman, esp for TMITYS fight.
We've seen Wells straight-up murder, remaining cool and collected all the while. I don't know that I can consider him good at his core. He obviously believes that any murder he commits counts toward a greater good and perhaps his work with Barry means he's not an outright black hat, but his calculated murders remove…
The weird thing is, the best Batman incarnations are not all that grounded or 'gritty'. Even the Nolan movies weren't really either, so much as they were just kind of humorless (which is fine!). Batman Begins was especially cartoony, and it worked well.
Batman makes money. Everyone is batman! !!!
Okay, that's funny... but not totally unexpected, seeing as Grant Gustin's last major role was on Glee...
Which is why WB doesn't get it. Dark and gritty is the opposite of all things Superman
Kiss him you fool.
In the comics, sure. But the question is how do you translate those characters for live action. It's always been a point of contention between me and some friends of mine about whether a connected DC universe could work in live action—I was always more a proponent of going all in from an animated perspective because…
Realism = muted color palette, flat un-likeable characters and avatar dragon aerial battles.
I demand this is the resolution of the Season finale. DEMAND IT I SAY.
A woman formed from clay and living on an island with no men but comes to America as an ambassador. An alien of of unlimited potential disguised by a pair of glasses. Someone who can moves his molecules so fast they can pass through walls and time. A boxing glove arrow.
I think it flipped around at about the point DC forgot what the word "hero" means and decided everyone in their universe was an angst ridden whiny murderer.
Classic over reaction. Batman was Mister Dark and Gritty. The rest, not so much.
Yep. It seems like every time a DC property misses the mark, it's "simply" because the execs have literally no idea of what makes the characters special in the first place. Sheesh.
My fingers are crossed that the current Reverse Flash is not the final embodiment. Fingers are crossed that 'Eddie' steals the suit after Iris dumps him for Barry. And then Eddie can become the real Reverse Flash. Dr. Wells is sinister and untrustworthy, but he seems to be ultimately motivated by making sure Barry is…
"The worlds of DC are very different," he said. "They're steeped in realism, and they're a little bit edgier than Marvel's movies."
