A few points: if this is more than just a "hey, look, isn't it cool that we're showing you Luke's hand from RotJ?" and is supposed to hint that finding the hand occurs, why would we assume it's the hand Vader chopped? That hand was organic.

He-Man was very different in the original comics before the cartoon came out. the cartoon basically had to dumb him down to fit in with the laws about childrens programing at the time and sadly alot of those changes have stayed with the franchise since then.
Nah, I'm just fuckin' with ya. It's this person right here:
Captain Marvel's classic origin is probably my favorite. Just the right combination of fairy tale morality, wide eyed wonder, and modern magic.
Skeletor was right.
You could add that the live-action movie borrowed as much as they could from Jack Kirby's Fourth World as they could while still keeping it a He-Man movie.
Actually, now I want to spin around the Batman urban legend thing into something where Batman actually DOESN'T exist. Batman is merely a cover construct of some special James Gordon Secret Gotham Police Unit which operates "beyond the law" and used as an excuse when criminals mysteriously disappear without a trace…
The big differnce is that Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster 'exist' in a non-populated area or wilderness and pretty much want to be left alone. They aren't driving around in specially decorated BigfootMobiles and NessiePlanes designed in the shape of recognizable logos fighting crime, which is a pretty noisy…
That hypothetical imaginary game would be enough to convince me to get my first game system since the N64.
Every time would probably get old. I see it more as a reward for landing a combo. Course it wouldn't be the same without Adam West doing the voice, so we'd need to hurry.
I think the problem with Batman is that a lot people want it both ways. Some people are "Batman Only" fans and they say they want the gritty realism and none of the fantastical DCU stuff but want to fall back on the "But Aliens and Amazons!" excuse when those inconsistencies get called out.
There's actually a story where this was the case with things like a couple having a private "Batman day" to celebrate when one of them was rescued by him and a police officer taking his wife for a stroll at night because he knew roughly when and where Batman would be patrolling so they'd be safe.
I came here to say this, but you said it better.
We also both agreed that there needs to be a Batman '66 video game.
Not to mention that most of them won't be true CCTV, and instead running off an IP as a network device. I would hazard that MOST of these cameras nowadays work this way.
Was playing Arkham Origins last night when my wife commented about why Batman is always an urban legend in shit. And how nice it would be if he was just this known quantity. Oh, hey Batman, thanks for saving me. Hey look, it's Batman, he's probably bringing us a criminal, maybe lets not all draw our guns on him. Then…
They addressed this whole thing in the Hellboy films — plenty of people have taken photos of varying quality since the 50s, he's become an urban legend/pop culture icon with comic books and toys and whatnot, he's met presidents, diplomats, etc...he's real, everybody knows he's real. But the official policy is that he…
I actually have faith in this show and I think it will surpass The Clone Wars. Why? everybody seems to be forgetting who is behind this show: Greg Freaking Weisman. This is the man that co created Gargoyles, was a screen writer from Kim Possible, he was the supervising producer for The Spectacular Spider-man, the…
Grant Morrison's JLA: After they've defeated the entire JLA and written Batman off as simply a (dead) human, he pieces together their identities and DESTROYS.
Jack Burton nailing Lo Pan in the forehead. "It's all in the wrist."
