I don't think Pacific Rim is a failure as it is poised to make its budget back and then some, and that's before DVDs and stuff. But if you are talking about it not being a huge blockbuster, yeah that's about right. I blame human stupidity.

I want to say the Master sword, but it loses a lot of points for never being your best option. Much of the credit given to George Lucas should rightfully be applied to Akira Kirosawa. There is, of course, the famous severed arm from Yojimbo; however, my personal favorite is the dueling scene from Seven Samurai in which we meet Kyuzo.
