A lot of Western devs seem to use the first game in a new franchise as a tech-demo/proof of concept. I definitely had some fun with Red Steel 2. I bet ZombiU 2 would have been great!

Thanks!

I've looked at a guide once, for a very silly reason. While doing one of the Divine Beasts, I fell into the trap I sometimes do where I didn't get enough sleep before work and then reacted to being tired by not eating enough. So I was in no shape to be solving puzzles. I figured out how to get into the map room, had

The WiiU is a beautiful, beautiful machine, and I echo your sentiment: folks, if you can't wait for a Switch, give this little-console-that-could a chance! I bought maybe 28 games for it, and maybe 3 or 4 of them weren't full-on joys to play (and at least one of those was some Ubisoft pap, so what was I expecting? Did

I have four days to think about it, but I just don't know how I'm going to deal with Breath of the Wild and The Ringed City without ruining my career!

Hell, I'm probably… 40 hours in? And I can't see an end in sight! I've only done one Divine Beast!

Without wanting to get too specific, the fairy fountain quest he gives you will still make sense if you've already found it!

I know people (who were blessed to be off work sick, on EI during March) who have already finished with Breath of the Wild, but I feel like it's going to take me forever, and I don't mind that a bit. I avoid fast travel except for running quick errands, and as you say, it's astonishingly easy to see something in the

More Breath of the Wild for me! Also, my birthday party is tomorrow, so I'm gonna start seeing a real return on my investment in 1, 2, Switch. Moreover, Nintendo finally released Super Mario Run on Android (in time for my actual birthday, no less!), so I'll be playing that, too!

Love this film, and I love this column.

Oh, I meant games that are out right now!

Yeah, I've met him twice thus far, so I'm sure I'm approaching the point where he'll settle down.

Haha, this was a milestone for me: first time where someone made a joke based on my nym and I understood what was going on after only a few seconds!

It's always a mix of frustrating, terrifying, and exciting when your players throw you a curveball. Had a really odd experience last month (playtime has been reduced in this busy time of year!) where I had prepared some really odd NPCs and a few scenes involving them and some information they'd pass on.

That's how I approach the Souls games: try to beat everything solo on my first playthrough, and then go summon-happy on subsequent runs!

Bloodborne and Dark Souls share so much DNA that I can't imagine someone really loving one and not loving the other. At the same time, there are lots of differences, both subtle and pronounced, between the two: ranging from wildly different lore and tone, to little differences in combat and world design.

You're exactly correct about the Souls experience: "hardest game ever" hype probably worked out in the games' favour overall, but no one should be put off by it, because it isn't really true. In Bloodborne, in particular, once you've made it past the first mob and opened just one shortcut back to the lantern, you've

Neat find with the mini-Talus!

I'd recommend buying a Switch for several games! Haha, granting that I'm an utterly unobjective party here, I've already got five games and they're all pretty excellent. And this is before I get a carrying case and start enjoying portability in environments other than "playing in bed before sleepy time."

Would you believe me if I said I'm going to be playing Breath of the Wild? Because I surely will!
